Finally the day had come. Rydel had a chance to go back to the Weyr and stand for Melorath's second clutch. He had been away for so long he wondered if he would know anyone, and if Beryl had returned or if she was still at Southern Weyr. It didn't matter where she went, though in truth he would have like to see her again, because White Sands was his home. He adored the people of Starcraft Hall, loving the chance to talk with peers about learning the Craft and other, less strict, Masters and Journeyman as he learned more. Though he had not yet walked the tables, he was closer than he had been and felt more prepared than if he had stayed at the Weyr.

A blue dragonrider - G'age and his Vexainth - came to escort him home. He was surprised it wasn't B'rioth and Oreoleth who were the traditional messenger / delivery pair. Upon questioning the obviously tired Searchrider, Rydel was informed the young brownrider had been injured during the Storm. There was no other word than that from the Healers, or else G'age refused to say more. Knowing Rydel was part of the 'family', he was confidant G'age would have told him if B'rioth had died.

With his meager belongings tucked into Vexainth's saddlebags, they dispppeared between, back to the Weyr....
