Appearance: Few people could deny the fact that Bro'tar was ugly. His bulbous nose extended from his face, his countenance made more bizarre by the wrinkles spread across his cheeks and under his deep set brown eyes. A long thread score raked his right cheek, and his ear where it had removed the lower half. A man of unpleasant features, the entirety of his face gave them impressed of a squashed grape covered with oatmeal. At this point in his life, he was used to people staring. It was not often, after all, that someone with such a purplish complexion was seen.
Personality: Despite his appearance, he had a reputation. Spread throughout most of Pern, he was the one trained in Dragonhealing who seemed to know the most about dragons and their ilk. If anyone was the "Master" Dragonhealer of Pern, this was the man.
History: Originally a dragonrider at a Weyr now long gone, he had been forced to retire from fighting when his dragon was scored so deeply one of his eyes was destroyed.

Appearance: He only has one eye. Though he could still fly, Bro'tar's brown Augeth did not have the depth perception needed to be an effective Threadfighter. He could be seen soaring above the collection of low-slung buildings that served as the Dragonhealers halls, or sun bathing in the crags of the plateaus nearby.
